Simon Taylor

Simon Taylor (born 21/12/1983) is the drummer in InMe. He has been in the band since it's inception as Drowned in 1996.
Not much is known about Si, since he is the most private member of the band by quite some distance. He was a childhood schoolfriend of Dave's and has been InMe's only drummer throughout their 14 year period of activity. Although Dave McPherson writes guide drums for initial demos, Simon is allowed to create his parts as he chooses when it comes to recording them and playing them live.

Simon is a competant rock drummer. His playing style was initially simple and effective but like most of the bands musicianship, he has become rather advanced in recent times. He has used technique such as triplet fills (Cracking the Whip) and complex cymbal work (Soldier) as well as lengthy double bass pedal driven sections (Art of Moderation, Nova Armada) in his repertoire, with the double bass being an addition to the kit whilst touring second album White Butterfly. He plays Tama Drums.

In downtime from InMe, Simon works as a drum tech or as part of the road crew for other bands, including Florence and the Machine and Ladyhawke. He is a smoker.
